Red Couch Day and Leaving!!!!

So lady-like... i know... unfortunately we didn't have any red bloomers!

This one is probably my favorite... although i t=like the one above of Kimi smiling... now if i could just put the two together it would be the PERFECT picture!
oh no... maybe this is my favorite!!! hahahahaha!!! I really think she was trying to suck or bite on her toes... no kidding.

And she was still trying to find any last trace of sock fuzz with her little super fine motor-skilled fingers!!! She is obsessed with getting any tiny piece of fuzz off of her!!!

I love this one, even though we can't see her face... she looks dainty, even though she's not yet...

I love this one though.
after going back and forth... one good of Maria, one good of kimi... and e good of Jerry... i decided that you will have seen enough of the good ones of the girls... so went with the good one of Jerry!
I just want to remind you that Kimi is difficult to get pictures of... she is constantly trying to run away... no interest in paying attention to us... soooo you get more pictures of Maria, who likes her picture taken...

Kimi actually looked at them for like a second... then she was turning to find another woman's purse to dig in...




Some day.. she is going to ask me why i couldn't get many decent pictures of her... she is going to be disgusted that she was always acting like such a goof ball... We would be walking along holding her hand and she would just suddenly try to throw herself to the floor... who knows why... but we had to hold on tight the her hand so that she wasn't always on the "dirty" ground...
We took a little walk around the hotel... since we were leaving that afternoon... we wanted to make sure that we didn't miss anything.


We went up to the 41st floor... the elevator won't let "us" go the 42nd... we looked out the escape ladder windows! Pretty big city!

On the flight... Maria sat in a chair until the person who needed to sit there came along... she was loving it... I know Jerry took a picture of Kimi in hers but i don't know where the picture is... it was on his phone...
I actually cried when we had to leave Guangzhou! Mostly leaving Cordelia! Goodness sakes! I wanted to bring her with us! I gave her my personal Bible... because she had been asking lots of questions... and she was wanting to learn the differences between Buddhism and Christianity. She was just so sweet... Its amazing how you can love someone so quickly!

We arrived in one airport in Shanghai and had to drive across the city to the international airport... we so hoped to "see" some of Shanghai, but the airport is a LONG ways out and our hotel was AT the airport, which was fine... it made going the next day easier! So we saw Shanghai at night... midnight actually, and it was fantastic in size! It took us a good hour to drive full speed through... no traffic that late, people there actually go to bed at night! ha! Jerry tried to video driving through but seriously it was that dark, even in the city! the video did not turn out AT ALL!

While we were glad to be going home to the boys we were sad to leave China... and the weather in Guangzhou was wonderful... perfect, really. I can't believe the trip was over... finished...

So we got to the safari park and Cordelia told us to go to the safari first... so we went right over there, and because we had the girls and strollers they let us go get on the train first... they folded up our strollers and put them under the seats for us! They even have little doors that close on the train sides so no one falls out. we saw tons of animals and they all look so well cared for!

The white rhino... oh yes... everything is in Chinese... we didn't understand a word they said about the animals! Maybe the girls did? Maria really loved looking at everything... she was so serious! She was sitting on my lap... so no pictures of her... come to think of it i don't think i took any of Jerry and Kimi either... oh well... They were busy looking the other way anyways!


They had people stationed at some of the places and they would throw food to the animals to make the move around so we all could see them... the Lions were one of them...big hunks of raw meat... mmmmm..... yummy...

I love Giraffes except their slimy long blue tongues... those i could do without... if anyone knows me... they know i do NOT like slobber! But giraffes are just so elegant from a distance!!




Alex's favorite... Wildebeasts... There's even a baby...

I am not sure what these guys were doing, but it looked cool... like dance or something! haha!


They were quite excited to see a cart of leafy branches coming along! they were coming form all over the field to nibble away at them.


See those tall shelters over there... that is where the giraffes hang out... cool huh? The safari was nice and long... maybe 40 minutes, but it still ended too soon!

Next we headed over to the "Baby" section... Cute little baby tigers, there were two of them and they were tumbling all over each other... so all the pictures of the two of them was just a ball of striped fur...

Tiny little baby chimp, maybe? anyways... teeny tiny in an incubator!


This little pen was funny! a baby joey (kangaroo) and a baby leopard! I could not get a good picture of them together... the shadows were too intense and the little leopard kept walking around "crying"


He was so cute... we just wanted to cuddle him!

We wanted to cuddle her too, but she was walking...

Jerry decided that Kimi needed to learn to wear a headband today... hahaha! first of all, it doesn't look as good on her head, must be the shape...
Second of all... in his haste to make sure it was still on her... she became a hippy! heehee! still doesn't look right! haha!

Then we had to feed the giraffes! eewwww... just be lucky that tongue doesn't touch you!!!!

yeah... Maria really didn't want any part of that... she was leaning to get away form that huge tongue... One little boy came by with his grandma, i think and poor thing...he just started screaming to get away from them!!!


I knew i would never remember the name of the place, so i took a picture of the pretty garbage cans!



We thought this was one of those photo-ops!!!? oh no!!!! when i looked behind inside... there was a garbage can!!!! Maybe it would help if we read Chinese!!! haha! Jerry said, "Sorry baby... we would throw you away!" as he hugged her after pulling her out! :) He had just stuck her legs in from the front... which is why we didn't see the trash can right away! We felt bad... and it explained why the Chinese people were walking by laughing at us!

Some birds that Maria tried to mimic! Although... they were really LOUD!!!

I have never seen Koalas out in the open at a zoo before!!! they are adorable and yet FUNNY-LOOKING at the same time!!! Lazy little fella's! There was a bunch of them there too... most of them were sleeping...

a true photo-op... haha! Then we realized what time it was and decided that we needed to hurry! we still wanted to see all the pandas!



Oh! and the elephants! Jerry fed them some bananas!

Then we headed out... We should have stayed another hour, but i guess i didn't understand that we could stay until 2... so we left at 1... but i would say that we could have stayed until at least 4 or 5! they had restaurants there... that would have been fun... they had "shows" there by the animals and lots more that we didn't see... so if you are going to go, make sure you have more than just 3-4 hours to spend there... after all it is about $30 per adult to get in, with the safari ride included. So worth it if you can spend the day... and we would have paid for Cordelia to come with us if we were to do it again... It would have been worth it to spend the day with her. She is simply fabulous and precious! The girls were getting pretty tired, too, so we would have planned to have lunch there and let them sleep in the strollers as we walked around... most likely they are not going to remember going anyways... it was mostly for us, i think! We LOVE animal parks and don't get to go very often!



On the drive back

I liked the roof of this house... there was a garden up there and beautiful vining flowers!

Seriously Bamboo scaffolding!!! How amazing is that!?

All along the freeways... they have these flowery bushy plants! Its so pretty and i was unable to get a good clear shot, as we were cruising along pretty fast AND i had a sleeping little girl in my lap.

Visiting our new friends, Judy and her Husband... don't think i got his name... i am sure it is something Chinese and hard to remember. They are some of our new Christian Chinese friends! They are the ones Jerry was giving Bible studies to. Jusy has a shop, with just about every thing in it and she has a laundry service as well! We bought quite a bit of stuff from her as well as our new stroller... that was REALLY nice!
Aren't they cute! They have a daughter... but apparently she lives somewhere else while they work at the shop, so they do not get to see her very often! Hope we can go back to visit Guangzhou someday and check on them!
